My experiences differ. When I crashed a few weeks ago I landed on my shoulder, wearing my A* T-Stunt Aero jacket. Slid for a little while as well(Around 20 ft, maybe a bit more) and there was nothing wrong with me. The shoulder obviously has markings, but it's still easily wearable. If iwould have been riding in a hoodie I would have a pretty ****ed shoulder right about now, as well as my arm.

A couple of huge pads and mesh jacket material do not make me feel safe. A leather jacket with pads is a different story.

I have one, it's not a bad jacket. I wish I had gotten a size a little bigger because w/ the liner in it's really to small. The jacket is good though. I got that back protector that you can slide in instead of the foam thing. It was only $20 bucks or so.

www.denniskirk.com Go to the outlet store. Gotta be quick cause closeouts like that sell fast. I just checked you gotta be really small or really large in order to get one now...but if you are one of those its 77 bucks now lol.

Man I should have bought one for myself when I first saw them on there. I told David about it a month ago or so...they had every color in every size back then.

The jacket and helmet will def be better than the typical no lid, wife beater, and flip flops setup
I think that you will like them both. In the event of a mild to moderate crash, the jacket and helmet can make the difference between going to the hospital or going home!
