The R version will have titanium connecting rods so should perform a little better, they have also changed the geometry a bit so the handling shoulb be improved, i wont really know until i test ride one whenever they come out.
My 2009 KTM has issues with fueling that the KTM fixed with new mapping and a dual spark plug! The bike jerks at lower speeds. I love the design and look of the 09-10 RC8R; but wish it had the upgraded mapping of the newer ones. I might sit on the sidelines and wait and see when they come out and get actual owner's input before I think about switching to Ducati.

The 1199 is just amazing.. pick up a 1199S and you're fairy tales may come true. I can see as frank said the panigale R being the top contender, these guys do bikes really well and their finish is breath taking.. what a sexy bike

Riders initial fears are that the failure of the monocoque chassis concept in MotoGP may have rubbed off on the Panigale V-twin Superbike.

Good that we have a local cmra racer with us racing the Panigale this year, we will be able to get feedback directly from him and also see how well he does on the new bike considering he won the championship last year

yes, but no active suspension. The TTX36 and NIX30 may be great but they are getting long in the tooth. Even ZX10R has gotten an aftermarket electronic suspension package from Ohlins.

I do like that V4, though.

never ridden one before so i would be interested in adding a v4 to complement the inline 4 and vtwin.

"I read negative things about Panigale but I'm convinced that this is a great bike that will give us a lot of satisfaction. I'm not saying we'll win the World Cup at the first shot, but players, we'll be very soon" Francis Batta

Seems this quote was just after his Wsbk team finished up yeasterday in Jerez, Spain.

it didn't seem to have a hard time winning the championship last year with an old man on board but I hear what your saying.

Absolutely! Biaggi sold a lot of Apes, that's for sure. After campaigning the Rotax V2 for several years with questionable outcome, Aprilia went on their own, betting on the V4 platform, and struck gold.

Realistically, few street riders can take full advantage of all the power and electronic enhancements put onto these uber machines. Still, for guys paying premium dollar for an esoteric superbike, it's all about having the absolutely best with the latest technology.

Now that Ducati gets to suck on the Audi for R&D cash, they will have no problem matching BMW's tech advance. No doubt BMW and Honda have had this "unfair advantage" for years. I wonder if Piaggio's are big enough to match.
