Weird Cop Behavior...?

Lately I've had cops in the opposite lane of travel to me flash their emergency lights or hit their siren right as they go by me but then keep driving like nothing happened. Is this some kind of half warning? lol has this happened to any of y'all?

I've decoded your post and literally means "I was going over the speed limit but just 15 over"

So yeah, they were telling you to slow yo down.

They were going to see if you flashed them back. If you did, they were going to shoot you. It's an initiation thing.

Ive had HPD do it when rolling with some friends but it was more supertroopers style. Blurted something on loud speaker pulled up behind then to the side of us passenger cop was LEANED all the way back in his seat said something again then they burnt off. Wasnt the usuall slow it down beep guess they were just having some fun with us.

i know some old cops that used to do that all the time.

but then i was taught by a senior officer to not ever do that - there's just so many things that can go wrong.

and the officer would be in hot water if he really wasn't making a justifiable stop.

it's kind of like paying a trick on one of your friend's friends - what happens if during this "jokingly funny" traffic stop, you'r friend's friend pulls a gun out and shoots at you, takes off in his car and slams into a family of 4 and kills them all !?!?

just too much drama that comes with "kind of" giving a stupid and arrogant warning by flashing using your police gear.

have i done it ?? yes.

.....but i didn't do it after it was explained to me.....

This is exactly what I was thinking. I used to be a police explorer and they always told us either you turn you lights on to pull someone over or you keep your finger off the light switch, there's no in between. It all went back to "justifiable traffic stops" a few guys were getting in trouble for unnecessary stops.

It's a noob check. It's to see if we can freak them out, get them to lock up the rear brake and lay it down. Then we laugh and go eat donuts.

Either that, or it's just a proverbial wagging of the finger, to slow down.

I've had a guy drop his bike on a traffic stop and I was thinking, "great, just before lunch break and I've got to work a DWI."

Turned out he was just a noob.

I've had a cop do that to me but I was in a car. It was late at night down a dark street and it seemed like he was saying...."yeah, I'm a cop. Now slow down so you can suck on my badge" type of thing.
