Clutching and Racing

Would like the imput from fast racers. Bradt, Whoopie, Alonzo or anyone else that is faster than me. Sorry if I did not put your name up there.

How much are you guys useing the clutch? I feel like I tend to slip the clutch exiting out of corners to try and limit slipping and max traction. Do you guys do this or is it just me?

I used to do this on the minis racing tmgp alot trying to keep up and try to gain as much as i could on exit of the turns.

Wasn't meant as a attack or instigate anything was just curious.

IMO, if your running above 45's at msrh I would concentrate on other things.
(The line, braking, getting back on the gas, when to late apex etc.)

Just my opinion. But who knows you may smoke me

In roadracing, I only use the clutch with downshifting and the start of the race. Never on exit of a turn. For me, that was a habit I had to get rid of from dirt riding. I did it a little when I first started mini-racing, but soon kicked that habit. I'd rather keep my rpm's up, and control my exit with my throttle,

Finaly got to watch the video. Yeah, I use the clutch a lot and at his level I would imagine him burning threw them every race. It also got me thinking i want a thumb brake.

Enoc, yeah. from riding the minis that is how i kept the RPMS up on the little bikes and kept it in the power was by slipping the clutch. On the motocross track I did a lot of point and shoot.
You are fast. What do you think about the throttle vs clutching?Do you think one is better than the other? You said you had to break that habit.
I would think if you were riding it hard enough you would be using the clutch on the exits trying to get everything out of it.

there may have been the need for it on a 200 mph 200 hp superbike but not a 600. The tires are much better now also. The faster you go the more the bike moves around, using the clutch as traction control on a 600 is not what most of the faster guys do, if any at all.

And I am not a fast guy
