Unhappy Wellp...they finally got me

So coming home tonight after meeting up with some old friends, I leave Sherlocks on Westheimer and was headed towards Beltway. I make the uturn and was riding briskly towards beltway, when out of the corner of my eye, I see an hpd waiting at the shell. I let off as soon as I saw him, but I saw him pulling out, and I knew it was all over.

When I signal to go right, he flips his lights, and I pull in to the empty lot. I can tell he wasn't too fond of riders by his demeanor. He asked me if I knew how fast I was going, but I played dumb and he kept asking me. He said he clocked me at 61. Asked for my info, and I give it to him. Here's the kicker, I haven't gotten my license yet (I know, I know!) but have ins and everything. I give him my license and was fishing for my ins card. He looks it over and flips it, I was hoping he might miraculously hand it back to me and wait for the ins card, but he goes, "you don't have a motorcycle endorsement!" Again, I try to play dumb, and he's all, "did you know I can arrest you and have your bike impounded?"

Long story short, he gives me a ticket for going 60 in a 35, and for no M license. Fine sheet says $277 for the speeding and $217 for the license. Can I still do defensive driving and get the license fine dismissed if I do the course and get my license?

I would sooner look for a friend or someone who can get a cop to do you a favor and pull the tickets. No muss no fuss!

The speeding ticket may be hard to get out of, but I would call the court in the morning to see about the motorcycle endorsement. The only problem is, that most tickets give you only 30 days, and if you don't enroll in a class quick enough and then get down to the dmv to take the test you might be cutting it close. Either way, its going to cost you money paying the ticket or taking the class. Sorry that happened, some cops are just dicks

It is very unlikely that you'll get out of the fine. Defensive Driving can keep it off your record, but the fine will have to be paid, unless you take it to court and get out of it. What is your court date, according to the ticket?

Yeah, not saying I wasn't at fault. Cop was acting a bit dickish, but most cops do anyway. Not here to complain about him, just trying to get info on how to best minimize my damage.

Really.....who does 35 on westheimer? You're gonna tell me you've never sped in your life? Get off your high horse, eh?

If he/you got popped it's because he/you was moving a fair bit faster than existing traffic...

Dude it appears you've got less than a year seat time. Your a scrub that should stfu, listen and learn before someone's having to scrape you off the street.

Uh, what? What does that have to do with what we're talking about here? I know I have less than a years seat time, and normally, I DO stfu, listen, and learn. But that has nothing to do with the fact that I was going 60 (which is maybe 5-10mph above the normal flow of traffic on westheimer) and got a ticket for it. I never said I didn't deserve the ticket, did I? I was merely asking for suggestions, and you seem to not have any besides your snide remarks because you've NEVER went above the speed limit in your life. So yeah, get off your high horse.

Seriously you're gonna ask "What does that have to do with where we're talking about here"?
If you don't understand the relevance you're too stupid to be operating any kind of motor vehicle... By your own statements, actual speed was 65-70+... on westheimer. Obviously more than enough to get the attention of a LEO.

So yea there is a suggestion, in the posts ^... slow down, take your licks and grow up.
