Question My next bike????

WHAT BIKE SHOULD I GET NEXT?

i've had a few sport bikes and a 695 ducati monster. I like the speed and the looks of the sport bikes (gsxr cbr 600/1000's) but the comfort / more upright position and twisties of the ducati. I was looking at the sport touring bikes but none of them look appealing at all!

any bike suggestions?

price range 4k - 6.5k

v-rods are sick tho.
I was actually thinking maybe a Harley 883 blacked out iron?

I would not go less than 1000cc on a harley, I like the V-rods for water cooling and tech advancements over other harleys.

An 883 I would say is a good starter harley, barhopper, or the bike you ride when the big one is in the shop.

I've never ridden anything except harleys so I cant comment on how fast it would be compared to a crotch rocket. Mine runs 11's and I've had it up to 135mph, a 600 would probably eat me. However the harley has a way bigger magnet so I'll stick with that.

In the end at least I can still go to harley ralleys and burn the old timers.

i had a nightster 1200, not quick at all by sports bike standards. even 600 standards. an sv650 with about half the displacement could probably dust a sportster 1200. especially if speeds manage to get above 90, being as the harley only has a 5 spd. and to me an 883 can't get out of it's own way. not knocking sporters though. i've owned two. plus a buell of the same engine family.

F4i maybe? Apparently the seat angle isn't as intense but still a 600cc

Winner!

FZ1 has the pre-cross plane R1 engine and is one heck of a motor on the top end. A bit soft in the low RPM range, but that's not such a bad thing. Especially if you are relatively uneasy about a beasty litre sportbike. Ergo is all-day comfort upright. I just sold an '07 FZ1 a few months back for a few clams over $4k. You can find a later model for your price point. Lots of them sold, so parts and farkles are plenty.

Umm.... then don't even think about a 650r or Harley 883.

Maybe a Ninja 1000... not the zx10. The Ninja 1000 is full fairing, but sits upright, adn has torque/power EVERYWHERE.

Keep in mind you can usually swap raised clip-ons onto many bikes... or lower bars onto the FZ6r, Z1000, etc. Incase you are looking for something in between.
