Alpinestars quality

I'm hoping this is just bad luck, but in my experience I have yet to own anything A* that doesn't break, or wear out in the first 2-3 months of ownership. Anyone have any good reviews that prove otherwise?

I had some cheap a*gloves that lasted a year and i curently have a leather jacket that has been good so far ive had it for about a year. Ive seen some stuff at cycle gear that was less expensive and looked like you were getting what you paid for. Your not buying on ebay? There have been some fake a* stuff on there before.

Got 2 pairs of astars gloves (sp2 and gp plus) and only the Velcro wrist strap seperated on the GP. They still work though. Have a 2 year old stunt jacket with no issues.

Have had my A-star leather jacket 2 years and still flawless. A pair of A-star GP gloves for a year...were stiff at first, but have held up well with no issues.

So, they're good in my book!

all i have is from Alpinestars, top quality, worth every penny! As far as gloves goes, i currently have 5 different models from GPX to GP Tech and they are all pretty good in my book, the GP Pros lasted me for aprox 2 years, going to get a few pairs in a few weeks just because they look old now but nothing wrong with them.

Gp pro gloves lasted 2+ years and threw a big crash. Only complaint I have is on a GP PRO jacket the zipper broke.

Don't go for the entry level stuff. Get the higher end products and they will last

Yup. I have had a couple "get off's" (5) in my A* and other than replacing the zipper in the right sleeve...they are still good to go

Straight out of Cycle Gear. I think maybe I'll take S.D.W's advice and stay away from entry level. The stitching around the velcro pads of my SP-X gloves has ripped and the material around the padding on the back of my Apex gloves has ripped as well. My SMX boots have held up pretty well, but the velcro tabs have come off the zippers. It's not a major issue, but it seems pretty common in my experience. Maybe I just grabbed the 1/1'000'000'000 that had weak stitching, or something, but for every piece of A*'s I've owned to have broken/come apart in a similar style is a little weird.

For comparison, my Joe Rocket gloves are in the same condition I bought them, just less stiff. My Dainese carbon gloves show almost no wear at all, despite a year of usage.
