I've got mixed feelings about it.

On the one hand, such a historic venue known for car racing would set the media into a frenzy with *gasp* motorcycles running at Indy. So MotoGP would FINALLY make it onto our local news broadcasts even if just for a 20 second blurb. Motorcycle racing desperately needs some exposure in the states to gain outside sponsorship. Only then will it realize it's potential.

On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of infield bowl courses. Flat and uninteresting. To have the greatest racing sport(s) Motogp (and F1) running on a rinky (IMHO) infield course is just sad.

I'd like to see a one-off MotoGP round, but then run WSBK and AMA there. Let MotoGP go to full on, purpose built road course.

I agree. I'd rather see them at Barber. But can Barber support those kind of crowds? I've never been, I don't know.

Laguna Seca couldn't handle their crowd last summer

Crowds at the track, and hotels for the crowds to stays. Indy has experience with massive crowds.

MotoGP is Lagunas largest event ever.. so they are still learning. Does Barber have enough hotels located reasonably close to the track?

I don't think Miller Motorsports park does, but it's a beautiful track. Flat, but beautiful.

They don't.. They have a 5 year agreement with LS. It would be a 2nd US round.

Yeah, Indy is not a good place to watch a race, but like was said, it would be a 2nd round for them here. The F1 track is a neat little track though. Here is a shot of me (chopped off on the far left) and my girl (up front on the Ninja 250) coming off the F1 track last year.

No, I didn't go to the race. That pic was from an event where we got to ride on the F1 track. It was a couple of weeks before the F1 race.

I think the riders would boycott. They're not used to riding in bowls except for Jerez? and Motegi I think, but it's not quite the same thing.. not even close..

And using the shallow banking with the wall.. doubt it.

I think Barber has been considered before, but they say it's too short. They'd never get out of 5th gear. :BangHead:
