No specific reasons; just hear-say I guess. I know they had 5 recalls in the first week; but you are correct i am a non-owner and know nothing else besides what I have heard from reviews and such. I guess with it being a new model there are always little hiccups! Just look at the new Dreamliner!

I rode it and didnt like a few things....

1) the torque that characterized Ducati Vtwins is no longer there, instead they tried to make the vtwin perform like an inline 4, meaning that the power is way high in the rpm and very narrow powerband, maybe ok for the racers that keep the engine at high rpms at all times but very useless on the street.

2) the bike vibrates too much at almost any speed but more noticeable when under 70 mph.

3) the new frame helps the bike flick side to side quicker but at mid corner the bike felt very unstable and not confidence inspiring like the trellis frame of the 1098/1198 generation.

here are a few things i still like:

1) the design! the Italians sure knows how to make a beautiful car or bike, it is one of the best looking bikes out there by far.

2) love the dashboard and all the electronics that comes with the package.

3) the ergonomics are a lot more civilized than the 1098/1198 generations.
