Can I bring the 4 wheeler to watch or is it going to be closed to regular riders?

There are conflicting concerns between mike (the operator) and James ( the coordinator ) but mike will have final say. I'm planning to meet James for lunch to help cordone the area and do some more marking. What mike says, goes, but know it's still tentative.

Be careful if you do take the 4 wheeler! Me and the wife almost got slammed into by one of the drivers practicing. We were trying to be careful but we both were coming on from a blind corner.

If we can get some volunteers to show up at 7-8 and help throw some caution tape, barriers, and signs to cordone off the track, then everything west of the mud run will be free roam. The mud run and everything east will be off limits for the rally races on Saturday. Get with me or Mike when you can.

Call before you haul.

So the west end of the park is open for free riding. We have the mud run set up for spectatorsand everything east of there is ffor the races. We're on break for lunch and had a pretty good run with the 2wd in the morning. The one pickup was a ranger and did pretty good. However, there was some pretty good carnage at the jump in great view of all the spectators. Two cars went down for the day, but it's cool! They're LeMons anyway. On to the shootout! 4wd up next

So yall missed an excellent day of racing. We had the best hill for watching the best jump and the best drift section of the whole course. The two pickup trucks werent afraid to get air with their cheap, old chassis, and superior suspension travel - and please the crowd the did. There was also some carnage: a Focus nosedived and busted his condensor, and the landing was so hard, his bags deployed and shattered the windshield. There was also a goober running wheel spacers on his old Nissan and the lugs on that sucker backed out right before the jump (lucky dog) which sent his whole wheel rolling right into the crowd, but a rut shot it into a bush just in time. The stars of the show were the 4wd class and there was a good three way battle for the top time. a 2nd gen WRX had a quick driver but the real show came from the late 90s Imprezas. One was a tricked out, former Pikes Peak car pushing nearly 400hp but had a borrowed driver who didn't want to return it in pieces. Then, there was the nearly stock wagon with street tires that cost some pocket lint and change and fearless drivers. Sometimes no fear makes up for no power. All three of them got some good air time and a few of the guys even got sideways mid-air at the crossover. One of em came in too hot, took out a tire wall, and bumped a tree then stalled - and in true Rally fashion, restarted, and peeled out to finish the race without skippin a beat.

After the races me and my buddy were playing with RC cars in the ruts of the mud run, and James, the coordinator, was nice enough to let me try the course for 5 laps on my 125 pit bike. I managed to beat the 2wd time of 1:30.8 by less than a tenth of a second by using less than a tenth of the displacement. Yeehaw!

Check out the Sugar Hill Facebook and stay tuned. There were a few professional photographers there so I'm sure some high-res pics will be posted.

I got to ride in the red coupe and that sucker was fun. It's got a '10 STi motor, with a winning Pikes Peak suspension in it, and other doodads.

My buddy and I brought out my 4x4 Tacoma, his 07' STi and both dirt bikes to Sugar Hill a few weeks ago for father's day. Put together this edit. The first part of the vid is Mike leading us through the rally course. Then some dirt lot drifting. Then a bit of Tacoma action, with the dirt-bikes at the end. Definitely a rad place, and we'll sure to be back.

Also, what's up with the zipline at the swimming hole? Is it open to anyone? Looked like a ton of fun.
