how many times have you gone down?

Was it preventable?
What was the aftermath?

I only have gone down once.
I went down on aug 2006, totaled my 10R.
I could had prevent it by taking my stang to work in morning rush hour..

1 street. I could have avoided it by paying little more attention.

1 street (target fixation ran wide), 2 track (3 if you count the time I out rode my tires in the pits), 100's of times in the dirt, probably t boned 30 trees in my day...no lay downs on the Harley yet...I may have it figured out now.

Once at the track and once when a cop pulled me over and the kick stand was not properly placed but the cop felt bad and let me go with a warning

3 times....

1 - Street... overconfidence in my ability of 3 months

2- Track
1st at GSS - Early throttle input before standing the bike up on exit of corner... resulted in low side

2nd at MSRH - The left after the launch... 40 degrees outside.. cold tires, cold track, rear tire was not proper psi. Could have prevented it by checking the tires myself.

4 times.

First was a few months in, I misjudged my entry speed, hit the curb and high-sided into dirt and rolled.

Second was riding my street tires on a dirt trail. Patch of soft dirt led to a slow low side. My grip got torn up as the bar dug into the dirt. That was an abrupt loss of speed and I was winded, but adrenaline helped to pick my bike back up and ride off.

Third time was mud. Bent in the clutch lever and walked it home.
That was mother's day on the way to visit my mom.

Fourth time, I was taking the last turn on the way to work. The underpass u-turn. I was trying to get as low as I could without moving my . I flicked it down, got far, then the back slipped as I accelerated and tried to squeeze down a little further. I fell only about a foot and scraped up my clutch lever again.

I couldn't have prevented the slip from the mud in the road, but the rest were preventable learning experiences.
