That is the reason I track. GSS is less than 1hr from my house, and MSR is even closer. It's at most a whole day affair. 1/2 a day if I quit at noon and go home. I agree with you otherwise about spending time with family.

Can't speak for everybody, but I am glad I took a 15yr hiatus. Street riding is risk management. I don't think my younger self could've managed that risk quite as well I do now. Powerful bikes and the streets are too tempting for those with hormones still raging through their veins.

With 3 lil' ones, I still catch flak for riding now. But I understand their concern.
