Oh dear...I hate hearing this. Coward...plain and simple. We all make stupid judgement calls at some point but it is what you do after you have made that stupid mistake that counts in the end. May justice prevail. be with you and your family.

Thanks everyone for your kind words.
It is horrible to get this kind of news. She used to come watch my band play and we could always hear her and her sister louder than the rest. I will always remember those days
As a family we are coming together and supporting each other. I dont have too much news about the suspect other than that the police know who they are looking for and justice will prevail.
Thanks to everyone.

Any more updates on this??

I found this on the HPD News Release site:
February 17, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9700 Hempstead Highway about 7:30 p.m. on Friday (February 16).

The identity of the deceased female victim, 34, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant A.C. Francois and Officers A. Rodriguez, Y. Bashir and R. Blakley reported:

According to witnesses, two Subaru passenger vehicles were traveling north on Hempstead at a high rate of speed when one of the drivers lost control of her vehicle and swerved to the right. The out of control vehicle went onto a pedestrian sidewalk striking a fire hydrant and a female pedestrian who died at the scene. The vehicle came to a rest several hundred feet away from the point of impact and witnesses saw the female driver run from her disabled vehicle and get into the other vehicle involved in the original racing incident. That driver then fled to a nearby sports bar.

The suspects are only described as a Hispanic female, 22-24 years old and a Hispanic male, 30-34 years old. Both were last seen in a Red Subaru bearing Texas license plates 007-GLX.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065.

The investigation is continuing.

I'm so sorry to hear that - there's a street by where I live and it seems to the same situation - nobody's been killed yet but I'm just waiting. There's a blind curve and as I was walking the dogs, I saw some douche in an older F150 run the stop sign and almost hit the curb. Punks.
