Thumbs down getting off of work right when traffic starts!

i work right in the middle of nasa rd 1. right at 4:45pm on a weekday, traffic on nasa rd 1. is at a stand still. because everyone from johnson space center is getting off of work. my shift is usually from 9:00am to 5:30pm and traffic doesn't clear up till 6:30. So i usually stay an hour later being bored off my instead of being stuck in traffic.

so who else stays a bit later on the clock just to skip the traffic?

I work 15 minutes from home. I have a commute on one road that has a speed limit of 55mph with no lights. I planned it that way.

Ok, in all seriousness.

Is there anyway you can get some flex time from the boss? Come in an hour earlier and leave an hour earlier maybe?

Have you tried to talk to him?

Well hopefully the contruction finished soon and it gets slightly better. I am assuming you are headed West on NR1. Otherwise, you are on a bike, lane split if its that bad. In the summer you will have to otherwise you stand the chance of overheating.
