Geico MC Insurance

Happy New Year!

I called Geico to add a third bike (125 Zuma Scooter) to my insurance policy.
Have my ZX10 and ZX14 insured with them already.
While on the phone, I let them know that there is no leinholder on my ZX10 because its paid in full. THe lady asked me if I needed anything else, so I told her to remove my ex-wife's name from the account. Not sure how or why her name pops up on my insurance cards because she was never insured to drive my bikes. SHe said no problem and asked if we were separated or divorced. I told her divorced for over a year.
SHe ran my annual rate to include Full Coverage on all three bikes instead of just the 10 and 14 and the rate was crazy. The rate went up 1200.00 per year because I am divorced! THat is my revised number without the scooter just because my marital status is different???
What the kind of bullshit is that?
Same house, same person, same driving record, same everything EXCEPT I AM DIVORVED AND GET HORSEFUCKED BECUASE OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:b anghead:

I am shopping insurance companies right now but I am livid that companies are allowed to penalize someone because they are divorced??
WHAT THE ??????
And insurance companies wonder why people lie and commit insurance fraud?

Also allowed to discriminate based on age. What would happen though if they tried to charge blacks more then whites because blacks crash more?

all insurance companies are like that. always have been, it's nothing new, nor is it something anyone can change.

have a house = discount
married = discount
over 25 = discount
multiple vehicles = discount

All I could picture is a progressive commercial with Flo.

Lol, married does get a better rate but a $1200 diff just for marital status seems extreme. You need to try State Farm & Dairyland.

All ins rates in tx are based on actuarial data (statistics) married = safer.

I have progressive and they didn't do that after I was divorced. I totaled a bike and my rates really didn't increase much. I've been very happy w/ them. Hope you can find something. You are def getting -raped. It's bullshit. It should only be based on your driving record..
PERIOD.
