The idea is sound but I have had friends have there filters fail. So I am still not fully convinced.

junk.

go with a traditional filter, they hold back any junk that may enter much better than a stainless.

I along with many other racers use the stainless reusable filters without a problem. They work great for inspecting the motor for bearing material etc. I use a different brand but should all be close to the same

Don't use stainless for the street. Racers change oil frequently. Street riders don't and stainless wont filter as effectively.
