you'll still pick it up and damage somewhere.. last time I busted my R1 radiator, my bike picked it up itself, the hole was from down up.. not a straight oncoming gravel hit when there was nobody in front of me.

Sometimes your own front wheel can pick up gravel and cause serious damage

Well it's fixed. $20. Yeah I was following too close. Should have known better. But its just a gsxr.
I like that route. Will keep going. But next time a little more distance and a beefed up radiator guard

Glad I was wearing a full face helmet and gear. Those rocks can easily take an eye out through goggles. Or knock a tooth out through the skin.

seems like it. That steel screen worked on smaller rocks ( pea size). These grape size rocks need better armor.

Are you putting a space in between the screen and radiator. I plan on making the screen recessed so that it's not touching the radiator.

I just broke down and bought a . It has a nice frame that spaces it from the radiator surface. I can always beef up the screen if needed

Here is a pic of a smaller rock that was caught in the fan.

I think that flea market guard was good.. but then again, there's always bigger gravel.. or cats.. or dogs.. or pedestrians, bicycles.. bikes, trikes, cars pick ups, subs, 18 wheelers, tanks, choppers.. who knows.. maybe even alien UFOs
