100 % ABS works.I had a Car pull in front of me and all i can do was hit the breaks hard.my Big heavy bike stopped the way its was designed to.quickly without locking up.I was doing about 90 mph.I would vote yes to ABS

if you are planning to race the bike then choose the non-abs model.

if you are just going to ride it on the street then get the abs model if you are not comfortable with panic braking in wet/gravel road conditions.

My bike instructor had the abs model R 1200 GS and he told us how he tried testing it one morning and at the end of the day, he loved his bike even more.

My bike came with ABS... it's called my right hand..

Learn to use your brakes without panic and give distance, pay attention to traffic. If a drunk or dumbass is going to broad side your or ram you from behind, ABS won't do .

otherwise.. if you have money to burn... and like to ride BORC style in the rain.. by all means..

Youll never hear anyone say "ABS made me wreck!" you'll hear "ABS saved my ".

Think about it.

it would not influence my decision to buy or not buy a particular bike...the price tag of most bikes i would be interested in would not make the added cost of the abs a deal breaker. i do not own bike with abs but it would not keep me from buying one...the last new bike i got was the cbr and i got it without abs.

If you can afford it, ABS is absolutely the better choice. Those who are opposed to ABS cannot provide any valid reasons for their decision other than the added cost. You'll be able to stop faster in wet and dry conditions.
