I acknowledge that testing a bike encompasses different unknown variables than cruising a few mph over the posted limit, but both are inherently risky and steps are taken in both cases to avoid serious injury.

I'm going to rant a little here: I work in the petrochemical industry where they have rules like "wear your hardhat at all times when working at a terminal." So, on top of a shore tank (approx 50ft up a ladder), I have to wear a hardhat? Up there, anything that will cause enough damage to require a hardhat is going to kill me regardless of whether I'm wearing it, or not.

My point is that you can't account for all factors in every situation, every day, every time you want to do something, but you can take necessary precautions to prevent excessive injury and sometimes that's the best there is. Getting on a message board to tell people when and how they should have their fun based on your own perspective is close-minded and arrogant. If I go out in a sleek, black, flying Ninja blaze of glory, it will be because I took known risks and subjected myself to something better than Xbox and whiskey... and it had better be on film.
exactly my point..... if i thought about all the "what ifs" when i purchased my bike, i wouldnt be riding today.......

Roll on racing is more of a test. It eliminates the need for launch skills or traction from the dig. You can't test that in the 1/4 mile.

I'm seeing a lot of ignorance from those I expected more from. Guess being smart with investments doesn't translate to other life scenarios

i have done a few roll ons and this happens all the times, but it is not a major factor..... again, this is not a drag race where timing is everything.

i guess i feel honored that you expect more from me..... but your life scenarios doesnt play well in reality, i am sure you didnt understand my previous example by the type of answer you gave me.

without a time and place of when and where this event will take place, there is nothing the cops can do even if happens, now if they catch us in the act while we are at the event is another story.

we have not interest at all in drag racing or 1/4 mile numbers, so dont need to go to a drag strip, we are simply a group of riding buddies that want to test our bikes in a roll on test.

for this to happen they will first need to know the "When and Where" in order to make the bust dont you think? or do you really think the cops will set aside additional human resources and funds for an unknown number of days to stake out every farm road in Texas just because they have heard of this event? it is just unrealistic for any PD, they all got better things to do specially with all the crimes and shootings around town.

Geez. You are dense. We were caught last time we did a big Mexico trip. We were held roadside for hours while everyone was run for wants and warrants. Those of us with some practical common sense knew that our thread was all the proof they need to pursue charges. They would have to find it but its not that hard. They had us there for hours after all. I'm done trying to explain this. That's all I was trying to accomplish here. I had interest in this myself and was only trying to make the point that this thread shouldn't be blowing up.

He is saying "if" you get caught they can do a quick search on the internet to bust any one else that was involved.

Chris, please don't simplify this thread. I get great enjoyment in trying to figure it all out.

Our SMRs has been posted here since 2009 i think, during those times we had been road blocked and pulled over a few times, yes the cops do check for license and insurance as part of their routine traffic stop (nothing new to any of us)..... at no point any of us were worried about the SMRs posted on this forum, all the cops ever did was either give us a ticket or a long lecture...... no charges were ever pursued by the cops in connection with any of the SMR threads posted on MH or HPC. I have no idea where you got the idea of people being prosecuted and charged for posting events online but i can tell you that our past experiences with traffic cops was limited to warnings, tickets and lectures!

This will look like racing if yall get caught. And racing i think is a felony now. I stopped street racing, is expensive and i just got my license back a year ago.

Not to mention that you can barely keep a bike running
