Next logical close call will be the Flashed ECU ZX10. A little more HP than other ZX10s but higher red line. Could make a difference. Really rider and weight is a factor. THe 1000rr hp advantage is balanced by tourque and less weight of the ZX10R. RIder weight will be a factor here.
Im weighing in at 165-167 depending on day. Also, mostly empty gas tank will be a factor we will need to account for. Same fuel level in machines. Full, half, or 1/4 tanks for equity of weight.
Everyone top off at the same time. My gearing is stock. Add on's; K&N air filter, FMF Apex slip on, Z-BOMB timing eliminator.

i think Gary should have the upper hand as far as power to ratio goes..... his bike is lighter than the S1000RR and he is also the lightest rider of all, but i still want to play lol

Weight and gearing will be huge here... HP will be pretty close between the '11 ZX10 and the BMW...

Action items:
1) Try to get as even of starts as possible.. Count downs, honks, starting markers or something.. If one bike gets the jump, it skews the results big time....on average the jump alone is 1-2 bike lengths

2) Gearing.. If one bike is geared lower then the other, it WILL get the mechanical advantage and accelerate harder with equal rider weights.. The taller geared bike will never catch back up until the shorter geared bike either tops out or reaches rpms out of its power band(which I don't think will happen with either the zx10 or BMW)

3) Rider weight, this is another huge one.. 30-40lbs makes a BIG difference.. I have seen 30lb weight differences at the track cost 3-4 mph after swapping equally skilled riders. So try to match up bikes with evenly matched rider weights.. even the physical size will play a roll, the bigger guy that can't tuck or get his big shoulders out of the wind will be disadvantaged.

4) Rider skill... Given there is not a lot of rider skill in this type of racing, there is SOME benefits to being more skilled/experienced. The ability/confidence to wack the throttle wide open in 2nd when you know it's gonna wheelie, how you handle the wheelie without losing too much speed, how well you shift without hitting the limiter or using the clutch, how quickly/well you can tuck and get out of the wind...

There is so many variables in this stuff its hard to use this type of competition as means to accurately "comparing bikes"... But it's a sure as fun way to do it.

Devil is in the details... And how controlled this testing will be will quantify the accuracy of the results.

As for the "competition" aspect of it, run what you bring and hope its enough....and ride the out of it..

didn't I see Modern Diesel post something about talking to an airport ...some time on the runways would be cool? Yall could "raise money" with raffle tickets and what not! I'll be selling these and popcorn at the event...

okay i'll stop...yall be careful out there...

for the footage..just get some go pros and place them along the 100yards or so...spread them out about 10 yards apart.

I obviously know jack about GoPro camera.
Is there any kind of sycronization mode for multiple cameras and views?
You guys know any tricks to mark the video and sync multi view with software on a computer?
Or is there any brand of camera that has a Bluetooth capability to sync with other cameras?

That would be cool to have front, side, and rear sync views of the event.

Someone fly an RC chase plane for a birsd eye view!

1-I could see the scooter shootout- Chaps in chaps
2-Syncronization of go pros would be nice but I have not seen that capability
3-RC chase plane, would need to be a jet. Would be kind of cool to hover a rc heli over the road as you are going underneat. I don't think mine would be powerful enough though. But if someone has one that is proficient with it that would be awesome.
4-Have lucar put that mount on his helmet. It will slow him down either that or the video will be spinning like crazy.

So wrong on the RC chase plane.
I fly them and you could get away with Strykers which go 80+ MPH.

There are some Ducted fan (jets) that move well past 100 mph.
I think the birds eye view combined with the RC plane's acceleration capability has some merit.
