Good job on getting ALL of the gear. You may not need it all for the actual class, but it definitely won't hurt you.

plenty of people drop the bike at MSF.
I have only been to MSF once and nobody dropped the bike. I guess it was because I was at AWESOME CYCLE'S ? Those people rock!

In my class there was this older Asian father with his daughter, she didn't even look older than 18 and was probably shorter than 4 feet. The 250's they have there looked bigger than them, and they actually made throughout the day without dropping them.

Don't dress for the weather, dress for the crash. Sweat wipes off much easier than blood

In my Awesome Cycles class there were 2 or 3 people who dropped bikes. Not sure who dropped how many times, but there were 4 or 5 drops in the class.

When my girl took it, there were 4 drops, at least 2 different people.

I'm not saying don't protect yourself, just don't trash your new helmet/gloves/jacket if you can avoid it by using some older stuff. You'll be in upper 2nd or just into 3rd gear... not like you're gonna be sliding much. All the drops I saw were practically zero speed... the quick stop or U-turn.
