Hey guys, this is from Dr. Donna Garren at the National Restaurant Association. I don't believe we have any of this peanut butter in the system, but it is one of those items that you often find one off in a restaurant to please the guests. Please read the attached note on the recall and then check your restaurants.
On a side note, my wife, Michelle, and I had just finished making my son's lunch this morning with a jar of Peter Pan peanut butter that had the code 2111 on the lid when we saw the story on Good Morning America. We trashed the sandwich and sent him with lunchables! Again, Please check your restaurants to confirm we are clean on this one.

SALMONELLA ALERT!
ConAgra Foods has recalled its Peter Pan and Great Value brands of peanut
butter due to a possible link to numerous confirmed cases of Salmonella. The
recall affects the products with Product Code 2111 stamped on the lid. It
includes all varieties including creamy, chunky and whipped Peter Pan and
Great Value Peanut Butter. Currently, over 300 cases of Salmonella in 39
states have been reported with at least 20 percent of cases being
hospitalized, with all cases reporting consumption of peanut butter
products.
Symptoms of Salmonella include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, vomiting and
fever. The severity of these symptoms depends upon the health of the person
and the amount of bacteria consumed.
If you have any of these products with the code 2111, you should discard it
and save the product lid. For a full refund, you must return the Peter Pan
Peanut Butter or Great Value Peanut Butter product lid along with your name
and mailing address to ConAgra Foods, P.O. Box 57078, Irvine, CA 92619-7078.
If you have further questions or concerns about the recall you can call
ConAgra’s 24-hour toll-free hotline at 866-344-6970.

Can you eat some just to keep from going to work or school? At least, have a reasonable excuse.
