I promise you that when my 14 is repaired, the first road I am gonna rip is 362 to 1488. Rematch road!!!

Todays score:

FM 362 - 1
Blanco -0 (actually -500 after insurance deductible)

I am actually kind of proud of this front tire skid mark. If I had just a few more feet without that asphalt mountain where 362 crosses 1488. I would have stayed upright. You can see from my skid mark that when the tire hit the asphalt road change, it was turned slightly. When the tire hit the elevation change, bam to the ground at about 4mph. That is quite good considering my 90mph closing speed on that intersection when I thought "oh that is an intersection" and proceeded to suck a ZX14 seat into my .

Oil on 1488!

The damage, not real bad but not real cheap!
Oil on 1488!

After the initial wreck, tried to ride it out but oil puked all over 1488, my pipes , and the rear tire.

Oil on 1488!

This was some slippery ! Went through a 55mph curve on 1488 and the rear was kinda wagging!!

Oil on 1488!

Could have been worse. Just hope no one rides, or drives hard on the slick.

So you blew a stop sign and not your engine, right? Thank no one was crossing that intersection.

He just ground down an engine cover when his bike went sliding down the road. Engine didn't blow.

No about that!
Actually, Tdogg on a Busa coming up from behind saw a big truck with my name on it coming on 1488. He thought I was a gonner.
I never saw any of that , I was braking like a steering the bike with a locked up front end for the last 30 or so feet.

When I came around that corner that I know well, I was thinking...that is a strange looking road and then processed "oh that is the intersection. What I was looking at was the small little country road across 1488 over the intersection.
I went from 90 to nothing quickly.

We all know this stuff but you gotta pay attention all the time. That little lapse of getting into my (agressive) cornering zone nearly cost me.
Ask any of the of the guys, I was never mad. I have insurance and most importantly I got up 100% ok and walked away!
I am glad I chose to wear my Kawi leathers, the armor in the forearm kept me from injury!

I appreciate it brother!
If that tire pressure had of been 32 instead of 36lbs, I might have pulled it off!

She will rise up again, stay tuned!!
