I use a clear shield since I ride during the day and at night. I find it easier to stash sunglasses than an extra shield.

I have both tinted and clear. For street riding, I don't use the tinted ones much, unless it's a ride that I know won't need the clear. Even though Shoei makes changing shield easy, I just get lazy and leave the clear on. Besides, when I get to where I want to go, off the bike I still need shades.

If your face gets cut up by your shades in a crash, it is either a horrific one, in which case you prolly have worse things to worry about... or your helmet does not fit well.

For track on a sunny day, tinted for sure.

Tinted safety glasses and tinted sheild here. Less eye strain all around.

If I know I'll be out past dark, then clear sheild... and maybe both glasses.

Sucks to put on the clear sheild for an evening and have to stare at the sunset.... or leave in the morning and stare at a sunrise, so I always have sunglasses with me.

Oh.... forgot about that. Same here on my clear visor, except I used sticker vinyl. That did help a TON and doesn't limit visibility because it is so high.

If you have a visor bag, then the visor fits quite well at your side under your jacket.

I have always preferred tinted, because the sun glasses don't fit under my helmet well and always give me a headache - not worth it.

The last helmet I had came with a WikiShift shield http://www.wikihelmets.com/shields/WikiShift/ which I LOVED because I usually am caught riding home at night.

They make a color-change sticky, but I cannot say for certain how well it works. I had that helmet for a couple of years and love it. After a while, though, it got too loose, and my head is just too small- I have to change out helmets every couple of years.

A warning about wearing sunglasses coming from a company trying to sell you tinted shields... Hmmm...

Get the tinted. You dont want to scare off all the hoes that might think you are cool for riding a bike.

I rock the gold tint doesn't bother me as far as visibility... of course I have a 8k hid light to assist with that

If you get a bell helmet you can add the transitions shield. It works really well. I can't see myself ever going back. Stand in the sun for 5-10 seconds and it gets pretty dark.
