I am a firm believer that the only way to quickly make a bike change direction is by countersteering. Knee on the tank and weighting pegs make no appreciable difference without countersteering.

That is what the NO BS bike proves. Yes, you can make the bike lazily change direction without the bars, but you cannot make it snap decisively into a turn.

As Romeo said, you subconsciously countersteer when you move off the bike; but I prefer to make the bike change direction with the bars, and have my body position set prior to the turn.
