Carb Starting issues

My Ninja 250 was giving me problems towards the end of the last trackday where it wouldn't want to start.

Bike is jetted with Dynojet Stage 2 Jet kit with circlip set at the 3rd position on the needle and the snorkel removed. I replaced the OE filter with an Uni replacement filter. Bike has been running fine like this for over a year. I did the valve adjustment maybe 3 months ago. I find it hard to believe that maybe jets could have clogged or my floats are stuck having ridden the bike almost everyday to and from work and occasional leisurely rides on the weekends. Bike has over 21k miles and I run seafoam in the gas every 4-6 months.

I can't check the compression because I don't have a small enough adapter that'll fit the spark plug hole. I know I'm getting fuel since I flooded the out of the cylinders to where it would leak out of the header flanges and spew out of the spark plug holes. Spark is good even with the plugs being fouled. I tested them by grounding it to the bike with the plugs out. Battery is good and holds charge.

How can I test if I have a stuck float or clogged jet?

I did manage to get the bike running by keeping the starter turning and opening the throttle.

Here's a quick sound clip:

Don't have the time to type up the whole drill.
Give me a call at the shop and I'll walk you through a few things.

Just because u ride ur bike doesn't mean ur carb wont get dirty or clogged. The needle can get tarnished and have issues seating or get a piece of dirt in there to keep the needle from seating. I would check pull the pilot jet, soak em in some of that carb cleaner stuff(cant remember the name) that u can dump the whole carb in to see if that fixes it.

How much oil did you put in the cylinder?
Did you run an actual leak down test?
Have you checked your valve clearance?
Too tight a clearance can give you issues and lower compression as well.

I put about a tablespoon.

without oil

with oil

Valve clearance is within spec.

I haven't done a leakdown test yet. I'd have to rig up a setup to do so.

From the vids it's proably rings.
Unusual for a bike with your mileage though.

I think the wear is due to me running the bike long and hard. I'm still using Rotella T6 but shortened the oil change interval to roughly 2k in between changes. I'll find out more when I send off 3 of the oil samples for analysis.

I once used a drill mounted glaze breaker on my old XS750E. I submersed the cylinder in a tub of water and ran the hone in and out of each cylinder with an electric drill. Yes, electric drill above a tub of water - I'm still here. Ring gap was still within factory specs with original rings after honing glaze off of cylinders. I was real cheap and it was a last resort. It actually resolve my oil usage problems. I didn't have compression issues before or after.

I could probably get away with rehoning the cylinders and installing new rings, how can I when these arrived:

Kawasaki doesn't offer oversized rings or pistons but wiseco and JE Pistons do. 2mm+ and bumped up the CR TO 12.5:1. I might be able to get away with running 87 octane. I'm going to polish up the combustion chamber and get rid of any hot spots.

The 250 is cheap to mod vs a inline 4 Supersport. The pistons set me back 200 dollars lol
