Gotta share this....

So a guy comes by today w/ his "mechanic" cousin to look at my mustang. After about 2 minutes of walking around it and asking questions, his cousin states that "man it's got a shitload of ****ing miles for a 92!!" It was at this point that I knew that this guy's cousin was goin to talk him out of buying it. His cousin then asks me if I'll throw on some new tires, to which I reply, "Sure, but the price goes up if I do that." His cousin acts like I just -slapped him and kicked him in the nuts. "Why is that?" he says..."Well, the tires are close to $200 a piece, so I'll just add that $500 back on that I've already taken off."

Ya know....for a "mechanic" he sure didn't know very much about cars....I don't know all that much, but I felt like I was talking to my wife about cars when I talked to him.

160K miles is a ****ing lot for a 92!!!?!?!?! all the way home

It's automatic, the pics make it look good, it needs some body work to really make it shine.
I originally got it to turn into a sweet bracket racer, but 2 years later and things not looking too good in the future wise, figure I'll offload it and pick up that bike that I've been wanting to get for the last 10 years.

yeah but 160k is 160k and i don't care if it was 50 freaking years old :laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6
slug on the valve train, tranny got to be shifting hard, blow by ..lets not even get to the emission inspections
Let's see...where to start, tranny is perfect, engine was rebuilt about 50K miles ago, passed emissions today w/ flying colors......

Anything else "he who thinks he knows all"?

You should get your eyes checked out man, seriously, there's no RED there. As for the leaves...dunno, I'm not a leaf. They're not "stuck" though.
Anything else you want to comment on?

When did I say it was perfect? I did say that it needed bodywork. Not to mention I'm asking below low retail.
Really though, do you have nothing better to do but to get on the net and try to make yourself look cool?

He did ask about the bodywork, however, it's priced BELOW LOW RETAIL. Things someone would know if they knew what the **** they were talking about. And since he's a MECHANIC, he'd know that 160K miles is actually low for a 92
