its only two years old, i dont see any issues. Alot of people buy bikes go out and scare the out of themselves, then park it in the garage, and forget about it. Until they see they have money just sitting there.

That is not a 2010! The tail section alone gives it away. Looks like a 2002 or 2003 to me.

Do the newer R6s's have a different tail section than the old 03 and 04 model R6's?

The newer tail sections are more pointy, this one is more blocked off. Just looks like an old design.

I don't think they made the R6S in 2010. There is a 2009 R6S with that paint scheme. And looks like they went back to the old tail section on the S.

I bought an 08 zx6r in February from a lady with only 750 miles on it. Sometimes people just don't ride as much as they thought they would when they purchased it.

And +1, to understanding the r6/r6s and zx6r/zzr models over the diiferent years.

Bingo. The R6s model had been offered by Yamaha for a while.

Considering I just bought an '07 SV1K with less than 300 miles on it, I'd say the mileage thing is not always an issue. There are tell-tale signs of a bike with little miles:

1. No or very little wear on brake rotors/pads
2. Clean radiator with few if any pebble stikes
3. OEM tires with amount of wear appropriate to the miles ridden (not a definitive proof, since it varies per rider and the tires could have been dismounted and remounted)
4. Engine and overall parts condition. You can clean an old engine, but the signs of wear, use and heat cycling are difficult to erase.

In the end, if you are not comfortable with the sale, don't. The seller has every right to claim what they want to claim. You, the potential buyer has every right not to believe them.
