LOL. I only went back once in more than 30yrs. First week I was there, I didn't even want to go walk on the street, much less ride a scooter or, gulp, drive a car. A month later though, I was out there on my mom's 50cc antique scooter and my dad's 125cc single slicing and dicing with the best of them. We even rented a car one time to drive up to the mountains. You do what you do when you have that many people crammed on a tiny little island.

Yeah i used to go back every year to visit my family and the night markets. Taipei is more civilized compared to the south, first thing my friend told me when i got on a scooter was "ignore all red lights", after 5 minutes of riding i knew why

Did you see the last motoGP at Valencia?
I was about 5mph slower than those guys on 1948 Indian.
I swear if I had been there 5 more minutes I could have kept up with those guys...

Maybe that squad car with a bike pulled over on the shoulder had something to do with their speed? When the po-po go enforcing in the canyons they don't go alone. If you see one you'll likely see another. Traffic tickets in So Cal are crazy expensive. Get caught in the HOV lane alone and you're paying a minimum of $400 the first time and repeat offenses keep escalating the fine.

Don't know if Taichung is any better or worse. First week back, I rode with my uncle in his BMW 518i (which is only sold in places like Taiwan) and he blew through every red light. Only thing he'd do is toot his horn right before each light, as if to say: "coming through, wach out!" I am not proud to say that by the end of the ride, my manhood had retreated back into my abdomen, passed my liver, and hid behind my lungs.

No.

plus first guy was going at a faster pace than guy recording. if you wanna base it on the Speedo you can see, you are probably 15mph off.

Ahh Mulholland.

I averaged about the same speed as these guys too. Its not about the speed though. Its the fact that you are riding Mulholland !! Loved those SoCal roads..

Again sunday ridet. It was not about scooter vs sportbike but rather that corkscrew on mulholland is more skill than speed.

I got to fellowship with the bikers up there and they let me know avg for sportbikers is like 40-50, motards 50-60.
