I bought it in kingwood area and no its not registered...yet. but I plan on doin this next thursday. How do I figure out the presumptive value tax so I can have the money when I try to get it registered?

They choose whatever is greater geniuses. Presumptive value is usually lower than sell price. So if you paid 6000 and they value it at 4000 youre paying taxes on 6000. Just go to tax office and find out they got atm machine

I think you're mistaken. The presumptive value is often higher because the state doesn't weigh damage or wear and tear the same as a buyer.
Its sorta like NADA or KBB. There are general guidelines like "average" condition but not details that buyer and seller consider when coming to terms.
I may buy the bike for $4000 but if the state says its worth $5000, I'll be paying taxes on 5.

Well what are the TTL for a bike worth $5000? This might help him gather the cash before walking in there and trying to pull out a chunk from the ATM.

Call the tax assessors office. I don't know, I just know the last couple of bikes I bought, the presumptive value was higher than what I paid.

Well I got the bike for 35 and called tax assessor and said taxes were gonna be about 285.so I figure add another 100 for registration and tags..if it is more im still good and ill pay it but its worth it
