Depends on who you ask... some people swear by them others say it causes the bike to flip and cause more damage...

I say they are because in either case they do what they are designed for... saving the FRAME! which is the only titled part of the bike.

Without a doubt. Remember your little spill on the gravel when we rode together? Sliders will protect your fairings in that situation.

I would say yes. I just haven't been able to bring myself to drill a couple of holes into the honda feerings.

Depends on the bike. Some have a convenient and strong place on the frame with a large diameter bolt/nut to anchor the slider. Those could save the bike at parking lot speed. Others need offset brackets or the anchor points are weak. I've seen instances where the slider break and tear up the frame with it. Not cool.

Depends on the design of slider too. Good ones are strong where they need to be, and weak where they should.

Is this for the '05 GSXR. I had a low speed lowside at my first tract day and the slider absolutely saved my 05 GSXR - and save the day. Bent the mounting bolt and scratch up the tip of the slider, but not much else was touched on the bike. i went on to ride the rest of the day.

It's the first item i tell customers to buy.I have seen many customers come back to replace sliders, and the bike is in great shape.little or no damage to the bike.

frame sliders are for parking lot spills or street crashes and they do help, at the track is a different story, most crashes happen at a turn and the bike goes off the track grabs the grass and starts tumbling, your damned if you do and damned if you dont.

heres an example.

my sport bike would have been sooo much prettier if I had frame sliders on it. I would joke and say after I wrecked it I would put some one, but then I went down and said eh maybe next time

I was in traffic around 6pm on 249 just before red river when the lady infront of me stopped short. I tried to swerve inbetween to avoid hitting her but there was a trailer next to her so it was either clip her or clip the trailer so I clipped her and did a little power roll.

Gonna need new clutch lever, rear sets, frame sliders, and a helmet...other than that the bike is rideable and feels fine but will be headed to Motorcycles Unlimited this weekend.

Sliders saved the plastic for sure only damage to me was my first knuckle on my ring a pinky finger where I guess got pinched between her car and my clip on.

Deffinatley countin my blessings though could've been way worse
