Best city in Texas? Holy dog don't even get me started ;-) ATX is cool and all but sorry, the overwhelming douchiness of 90% of its collegiate resident sent me running. I crossed it off the list early.

Hey OP, sweet talk your way into COTA. But take me with you.

I can't defend against the overwhelming douchiness of 90% of the collegiate resident but.... that just means that it is ripe hunting ground for Kletis.

I miss Juan in a Million, Taco Shack, Mangia, BackSpin Burger, and SaltLick so much! Not to mention I used to work on 6th at The Library. Too bad all the good bartenders that used to work there now work at Maggie Mae's!

There's some nerd in all of us (bring on the innuendos people).

Ill agree with unique restaurants but for renowned quality you can't beat houston.

I will admit we keep out boat on Travis, but that's not in Austin. Just nearby.

My only real problem with Austin is the people though. The close-minded view that it is simply the best. I guess a little pride is good.

But ultimately, too many hippies!

Had Juan in a Million for late breakfast on Sunday. And Saltlick is WAY overrated. Expensive and plain. Rudy's and a few other places are much better. And I'm old, so I avoid DT ATX. I hate it. LOL!

I don't know about the best city; but certainly the weirdest! Gordough's and Torchy's are my places when I visit. Welcome.

I can't believe someone can rate Rudy's (actually San Antonio based) over salt lick!
Trey if you're missing atx food it's because you aren't trying enough around here!

I'm with Mikey on this one. Atx is overrated and overrun by middle class hippies. Houston is so much more diverse and our traffic sucks 100 times less

Thanks, hope you recovered well... Hospitals suck. Luckily, I haven't been admitted to one but I've had my fair share being in them. I'm hoping to upgrade to a cbr600 sometime in the spring... I'm too poor right now haha

West 6th is fun too! It's not crowded and rowdy as east/dirty 6th.

The Rudy's in driftwood is delicious, but you HAVE to try Franklin's BBQ... Simply the best BBQ in Austin, if not TX. There's a huge line wait for them before they even open every time...

Yep, I live near Saltlick. I thinks it's way overrated. Have never had food there that just makes me think I can't wait to go back for more. Honestly, I think there are better places than Rudy's also, but those are smaller, unknown to ppl not from the area. Saying Rudy's is better than SL, just shows how much I don't care for their food.
