Radiator mounted above engine?

Go kart project, dont have room to mount the radiator in front of the engine unless i want the seat to block all the airflow. Woudl there be any problem with mounting the radiator directly above the motor? I know the head pressure of pushing the water up to the radiator would add extra strain to the whole cooling system but would it be a probelm?

Would it be btter idea to try to mount it off to the side somehow?

Well i may end up mounting it off to one side, this cart is going to be pretty wide. Thanks a bunch for the pics, got any more? What engine is that? looks like a 125. Im usin a srad gsxr engine so i would prefer to keep the motor centered to keep weight balance but we will see.

split it. As in getting a dirt bike radiator and putting one on each side of the seat. That way you can keep balance on both motor and radiators. It shold be enough cooling but you might have to add two fan if you are keeping a battery. Post pics when you can.

yeah its a cr125 motor. if you havent seen a 125 shifter kart in action you might want to check it out. the acceleration is unbeleivable. a gsxr motor is going to be too much i think. but hey go for it. ill PM you the other pics i have. i dont have too many since i sold it

Ant, that would have been funny any other time than now. . .I'm fuggin working bro.

On a lighter note, if you install a high volume water pump you can mount that radiator anywhere you wish.
