Selling Bike on Consignment

Can any of you recommend a sponsor, or anyone, that allows you to sell your bike in their space on consignment?

If so, do you know what their commission/service charge is on the sale?

Yeah, it's a great bike. It's fun, but just not my style for the reason I bought it.

I'm buying a little brother Harley Sportster for my Deluxe.

I have sold one at Motorcycles Unlimited and so has a buddy. They make it totally pain free and they have a much better idea of what they can get for it than you do. Plus they have the traffic in and out.

Wild West Honda can help you, we have many financing options for buyers. Patrick would also be a good place to take it.

Thanks for the ideas ... I'm lucky in that I don't need to sell this bike to be able to take ownership of the new Sportster.

And I have some time because I'm buying from an offshore guy.

This gives me a little breathing room to play the Craigslist game (which I can already tell sucks).

Dealing with the people and handling the paperwork is worth every penny of the consignment fee to me. So in the end, it will probably end up on some retailers floor.

Question ... about selling a bike on the weekends?

The best and safest way to sell a vehicle is during business hours, so that both parties can go to the DMV together and ensure the title transfer happens.

I was burned once before where someone bought a Firebird from me, never paid their transfer, got in an accident and abandoned the car. I had to deal with all that stuff.

I know one partially safe way is to take the plates, but putting other (fake or from another bike) plates on is an easy too.

What is the smartest way to do a weekend private sale?

I sold a bike on consignment with Manfuso SW, and I won't do it again. The guys at TMPSW and made it hassle free but I prolly could have gotten quite a bit more for it. I would give Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited a try if I need to do it again.

You could try selling it here first.
