J & M Cycles?

Anyone heard of J & M Cycles on the North East Side of Houston? It's right under the Beltway at Aldine Bender and Chrisman Rd.

It's the closest shop to my house and I went there once to check them out a while back, but I got a really bad vibe from them and I'm thinking about completely ignoring them and heading to over to Motorcycles Unlimited like I originally had planned.

Yea... The guys there don't have much on stock. I asked if he had tires for my bike and he said no but that he can put another size tire on it that he has. I don't even think that he had good tires in stock. When I got there he had the front office door locked and I was about to leave when I noticed the garage door was open. I feel like the guy didn't know much about bikes as he should have. I mean he looks like he can fix his own stuff but I personally didn't feel like I could trust him with my bike. His shop just looked too shady at my first impression. It could be a great shop for all I know but I think that I will go with my gut this time lol

I might choose House of Paint simply because I absolutely hate driving on FM 1960 with all the horrible traffic lol

House of Paint isn't that much farther, only about a 10 extra minute drive.

I know the guys personally at J&M cycles their mechanic has 8 or 9 years experience working on motorcycles he's the only 1 who I let touch my bike mechanically. He has worked on to my previous bikes that I have had before. The owner is Miguel the mechanic is Carlos the owner's son name is Josue. they are just like any other shop if you want your bike to be serviced you need to have the money to pay for it upfront. I have been going there for 3 years I have not had a bad experience. I have gone to moto unlimited and they have left a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. I have had an 07 GSXR 750, 03 Kawasaki mean streak, and now have a 05 GSX R 1000 and I trust no 1 else but J&M cycles to touch my stuff. If you want to pay higher prices and wait longer periods of time go elsewhere but if you want a good deal and people you can trust there you go.

Not sure about your shop, but Motorcycles Unlimited and HOP are great shops.

Also, i've never had to pay up front before somebody worked on my bike

The owner of that shop I have known all my life. He worked at my dads shop for 20+years and then started his own. He is very knowledgable and capable. If he is there. Ask to talk to Miguel. Tell him bubba sent u and he will treat you right

Ok maybe i worded it wrong, they work on it THEN you pay. I have always paid upfront and got my bikes back fairly quickly. But of you want go pay more else where and want to be without ur bike for more than just a couple of days then by all means, be my guest. J&M cycles does great work and then are honest with their customers from the get go. I have never had any issues with them as people, friends and business.

You can get to Motorcycles Unlimited easily with out going on 1960... Kuykendahl and over on some side road, less stressful or just go when it's not rush hour. It's worth it, really it's not that bad and only a few lights off of 45. I've been going to that shop since 06 and trust them. Never had a bad feeling about em either
