Alpinestar knee/shin pads for every ride (even through summer), when at school, I unzip my boots and push the gaurd down off my knee so they are loose around my shins/ankle.

I don't care if they move while sliding... if they take that first impact of knee to concrete, I'll be happy.

I have the Alpinestars chest/vest armor thing... just don't usually grab it for some reason. I thought I was gonna push the bike more, but after almost two years I've leveled off at a safe speed (IMO) and the additional armor under a jacket just seems like uncomfortable overkill.
