BS story just to flip a bike

I hate it when a guy buys one of my bikes and gives me this total BS story about how excited he is and all the riding he's gonna do and all this other made up BS. I even let him pay me $400 less than I was asking and we even talked about meeting up and riding. He seemed like a nice enough guy and I thought we hit it off. Cool, another riding friend--- Even brought his pregnant wife when he picked up the bike. Three weeks later it's up on CL for a grand more than he paied for it.
This is the second time I've met guys like this. Yes, flipping bikes is fine. I don't have a problem with it. I'll do it too, but why go through such a total bullshit show? Liars just get under my skin. I kinda hope there's one of those "He had it coming" stories to follow, like he took it to work one day and the whole engine blew. Actually, no it really doesn't matter to me, just why the bigass show..... Anyway - I now have a way better R6.
Sorry to rant.

LOl well no issues with flipping bikes.. But it is odd he fabricated a whole story about riding and such... whatever I guess... who knows, maybe he found a good deal on a bike he wanted more...

Or maybe he almost killed himself on it and no longer wants it.. I had a friend who bought a bike, and almost killed himself on it being an idiot in the 1st week he owned it so he ended up selling it after like 2 weeks of ownership... was new too, so he took a major loss.. SMH

Maybe he got the scared out up him and he feels the need to sell. Maybe its his wife driving the sale. Maybe he has inflated the price to deal with CL trash. Just saying. No need to make assumptions that leave you hurt. Relax

I've flipped a few bikes and just don't mention that I'm not the name on the title and already signed U130 form. I guess that's harder when you don't look like a Mike Anderson.

hurt bc he's selling for more? Maybe you shouldn't have let it go cheaper b/c he gave you some story.

You gotta put feelings aside when buying/selling items....

Though honestly, if you dont post an overly-high price on craigs nobody is going to offer you close. Unless you're looking to dump a bike quick and cheap, forums are the way to go.

As far as BUYING goes... I'm all over craigs. Flippin like acrobats

or inflated to cover the registration/taxes he paid.

There's tons of reasons.

If I knew CL guys would go for $1k or $2k less, I'd own more bikes
I tend to not insult by lowballing and wasting all of our time.

you are mighty hurt dude....it's a bike and dude is a flipper...sucks but what are you gonna do? buy it back at the higher price to tell him a lesson...let it go plus next time don't get sweet talked by some guy...

also that's not a big profit margin when you factor in tax, title and the fact he might get low balled too...kinda pointless

I prolly get called a flipper for how quick some of my bikes rotate in and out of my garage. Heck, I did not even ride the FZ1 for 100 miles before deciding to sell it. To me, the thrill of the hunt is just as much fun as riding the bikes.

I can't afford to be promiscuous with women, so might as well do it with bikes.

Yes, I have bought low and sold high. But that's usually cus I put an effort into owning the bike the way I like them - clean, preened and proud. That is how I let them go.
