two piece suit advantages/disadvantages?

Can I just wear the top jacket just for street riding or are they usually shorter than normal jackets? Also, is it true that most tracks don't allow 2 piece suits?

To make your suit you will need a jacket and pants that zip together. Since most companies use different size zippers it will limit your choices.

The pros are the ability to mix and match and convience. It is quite nice to pull your jacket off at the track or use the restroom with out getting completely undressed.

The cons are the 2 piece is held together by a zipper which can fail.

I have a onesie and two two piece suits. I use the 2 pieces on the street and it is perfect. The one piece is for the track and it has worked as advertised.

It isn't the track that won't alllow 2 piece suits its the organization. But I know ridesmart allows them as long as they zip 3/4 around the pant.

Do you ever use the top part of a two piece to ride on the street or are they usually too short?

The jacket of a two piece is generally just a jacket and you buy pants to zip in. No difference. My dainese jacket can be zipped to dainese pants although I don't remember if it is a 3/4 zipper or jsut in the back. Never used it that way. Since it's for sale I guess I should know that

On my teknik 2 pc the jacket is a little high so when you attatch the bottom it pulls them up. But its not a big deal to use just the jacket it just sits a bit higher. mine is still comfortable without the bottom so yes I use the top only and its fine just wear a long shirt under the jacket or you may show crack hehe.

I rock a two piece suit--really nice not having to strip down just to pee @ the track, plus, I wear the pants and jacket unzipped on the street, and it doesn't really feel like I'm wearing a suit, just stiff clothes.

there are 2 types of 2pc suit

1. regular jacket with add on pants

^^^ has longer torso, zipper is attached to a flap of cloth, so the jacket offers more flexibility to match up with different type of pants

2. 2pc suit were designed and sold together
^^^jacket torso are shorter than usual leather jacket but overall fitment is better than #1

i loved my 2pc just because i can take the upper part off when i dont need it.
some people said 2pc might come apart during the crash, that might be true, but mine held together during my last crash at TWS (Texas World Speedway)....
