Open ride day at The Ravine this Friday

If you have nothing else better to do than ride, come to Columbus and ride "The Ravine" race course for $25 all day long, gates open at 8 AM..

Open riding on Friday beginning at 8 AM, and then again on Saturday after the afternoon race is complete.

Racing to follow on Saturday and Sunday.

Here's your chance to get in some dirty riding on a race ready Xtreme race course, (If you dare try your luck).

Directions from Houston


Take I-10 west to Columbus. Take 71 towards La Grange/Austin. Go approx. 3 miles and take 1890 to the left. Go .7 of mile and entrance is on left. Look for the sign that says Christines

The courses aren't really any more extreme than other offroad courses, just usually a little tighter in spots. I wonder if the "xtreme" scares some people away.

I've heard that before but agree with you, it's really not any different. Just depends on the property.

You guys have fun! I've almost got my ducks in a row to get myself back out to these ride/race events.

I will be rebuilding my WP forks if my tools and parts arrive before the weekend.

It seems that a lot of us race the TORCS series too, but not many TORCS guys race with us. I was just curious if it's because of a perception that the courses are tougher.

That may be true for a couple, but I think it's more than that. For most I beleive it's a matter of going where their group is going. And for some oldtimers they still have a bad taste for how STORM was ended. They're both fun series with good folks. We're lucky to have an option.

I think you're right on this one, and we are definitely lucky. We can race at least twice a month between the two series.

Otis is a really nice guy, and he did make a great course for this weekends events. It would be nice to see more participants at his events but i'll take what i can get..
