I have summer classes to take, so I won't be able to make my annual Aug trip... So I may as well go with you guys. I've actually stayed at Fontana like 6 times now as well. Don't have a way to get my bike there so who all is trailering from Houston??? I can split driving, I've got truck w/ trailer driving experience times a million.

Only counts if you ride your bike there.

11 Jan 2013 UPDATE:

I have reserved 2, 5 bed Azalea cabins. Cost works out to $276 a person, for the week

I should be getting a discount on my Dragons Slayer club, but they won't apply until a week prior. Anything I get off will be refunded.

Cancellation is 30 days prior, or I loose the entire deposit, so..

If you want a bed and are definately coming, I need your room fee up front, prior to April 20. Paypal to texlurch@yahoo.com with either a note what it is for, or a PM on MH. If you don't have Paypal, PM for address to send a MO.

First come, first serve, 5 spots are filled as of now.
Cabins are numbers 473 and 475 on the map, so if we are getting full or you would rather hook up with others on another cabin, check the map for other huts nearby. There is also a regular hotel on site.

First post on the thread will note those who have paid and are locked in.
I need to go back and update from all the posts of peeps talking about coming, so if you aren't on there let me know.

If it says Dragon Slayer next to your name, that means you have been there before, on a bike.

This just covers the beds, so any food and drinks we still need to bring along.

As I sit here laying in the hospital, I read this thread and I feel it calling me. I need to go to this bad. I've ridden the bike out there 2 times and I need to take the GTR now. There's just something about this place that holds a special place in your heart. It's hard to describe. Do you know about wheelchair accessibility in the cabins? Bathrooms and such? Let me know. I have a friend that would love to go with me.

Some of the cabins have wheelchair ramps I have seen. I know the hotel has handicap rooms for sure.

How about bike security, would we be able to keep peace of mind out there or you think we will have to sleep on it

As we get closer, I'll look at committing. I have to recover from my surgery first. But I am definantly interested in having a few chase bikes. That's right...I said chase bikes lol.

I usually chain mine up with a disc lock..

This is a VERY remote area, and everyone at the lodge is awesome, and they are bike and car club friendly.

I plan to take bike covers anyhow to keep the dew off and prying eyes away. 45ACP is a good discourager as well..
