Scooters?

Hello Team:

What's a good brand for a scooter? I am more concern about the reliability, Thinking of a used Honda Ruckus or the Yamaha Zuma for a young (21) acquaintance that needs transportation from home to work and not enough money yet for his first car.

What other good scooters besides the two mentioned above?

Anyone had some experience with scooters?

Thanks

Have had 2 Genuine Buddy 125cc scoots since 2009. I drive the out of them, no troubles.. Fast too, easy sixty mph 2 up! You can find them for under 2k on Craigslist used. Scooter smith in the heights is the local dealer.

i always say why spend thousands on a scooter when you can get a ninja 250 or similar bike....is a bike out the question here and is it solely scooter time?

I like the idea but a Ninja 250 will be too much. One of the most reliable engines out there, no doubt. My acquaintance will be speeding in that ! plus it will be more expensive than a scooter. Kids will be kids!

Scooters:
Lower (and less) maintenance
Lower Insurance
Better Gas Mileage
More Comfortable
More Storage Capacity
Less Chance of Theft

Scooters, in a lot of cases, make a better choice, but most people are too egotistical to look at them.

It kills me when the young guys come into class wanting something cheap for college so they're buying an R1.

if i were to pick up another scoot next to my ruckus, it would be another ruck, a zuma, or a genuine rattler 110.

My meets usually involve hooliganism, drinking, debauchery and a CPA named Marty. I guess there might be room for some scooters and a donkey show.. I'll get to work on it!

KYMCO 150 purchased from Apollo Scooters. Cheap insurance, great gas mileage and maxed out around 60mph that's with a fat- on it too. It had an amp issue; the turn signals required here in the states were not required in Taiwan so there weren't enough amps to draw from and my battery would constantly be dead! Good thing it was a kick-start.
