Honestly, 1290 Super Duke is severely overkill for my age. I'll have my hands full with a 1190 Special Duke... or 1090 Regular Duke... or 990 Econo Duke. Heck, even an 890 Diet Duke would be more naked than I know what to do with.

Me buying a me a 1290cc Super Duke would be like J. Howard Marshall marrying Anna Nicole Smith, except I probablly won't last a year before succombing to the pounding of the mighty twin jugs and suffering a heart attack.

Here's something to help with that difficult-to-visualize metaphor.

That's a good looking dead chick and I think I'd be just fine with 1290 Duke! Wonder how much they'll ask for it, I'm sure a lot more than I want to spend

Maybe for the MV Brutale. That would be the closest bike I would compare this one to.

Wow. I think the 990 was one of the best bikes I have ever ridden!

I still put it in my top 3 street bikes.

I cant imagine a 1290 version.

Diavel is very powerfull allright, but it felt more like a laid-back power cruiser than a hooligan naked streetfighter. The Dukes are closer to Tuono (both V2 and V4), Ducati Streetfighters, and yes the Brutale.

I test rode the 990 and yes, it was tall. Really wish it had the adjustable ergo of the RC8. Fueling didn't feel any worse than a stock Tuono. Handling was fine, though I prefer the Ohlins on the ape Factory. This 1290 is supposed to have the best WP suspension, which will likely be superb.

I sure hope they see fit to do a 990 Duke Jr. Not everybody needs - or want - 180HP on a naked bike.

They had some surging issue and some had some stalling. you had to do some piggyback system to make them run smooth or get a custom map that fixed it.

They were and still are a great bike. It was just hard to go slow in a parking lot at 5 mph with out it jerking.once you got it to a higher rpm it ran fine.

The newer LC8 motors fixed that with the twin spark the maps were better and the fueling is perfect.
