I wouldn't touch their helmets, but the Daytona leather jacket I have is good. Not in A* or Dianese class, but not bad.

I have several ICON leather jackets (don't remember the models) that I got used from other MH members and I am very happy with them. The quality is good. I have an Alpinestars that is like 10 years old and the leather in the wrists is starting to crack. Also got a used ICON helmet (Death or Glory) and I think the quality was bad compared to my SHOEI. The protective armour they sell for the knees is very good. I think some of their products are good and others bad.

They sell on style and appearance. I think there is better stuff for the money. I have owned an Icon helmet, which was replaced with a Scorpion, which was replaced with a Shark. All of them cost me $200 or less and the Shark was the RSR2 and FAR superior to the others in all aspects.
I have 2 pair of Icon riding pants, they look good and fit well, but if I could go back I would not have bought them. When i compare them side by side with some Fieldsheer riding jeans that I have been down in, they come up short.
Personally I would rather spend the money on companies that put more R&D into their gear...but Icon for the most part does meet the right safety standards. so if money is tight it does offer great looks.

In that price range I would recommend maybe a nicer scorpion, shoei i like a lot you can find them on clearance right now some of them at leasst and icon honestly I wouldnt buy their helmets, the icons helet isnt that great protection wise from what I hear didnt test but aerodynamics of the airframe dont give you much stability, and Ive tested the scorpion helmets, they work well especially with protection . icon is aimed for the newer riders, younger, cheaper

I have an Alliance helmet, not as comfortable as my old HJC, and the Icon is heavier. I like the jackets and gloves that I have from Icon, but I wouldn't buy another helmet.

A friend who used to race, and at the time was the parts mgr at our sponsor's dealership, told me this: "Look around at CMRA guys. You don't see them wearing Icon. You see them wearing Arai, Shoei, etc. We sell Icon, so if you really want it, I can get it for you. But, as a racer/rider, that's a pretty big statement!" And you know what--he was right. VERY RARELY do I see Icon helmets on the track, esp at the races. That was all I needed to sway me away from them.

Safety-wise icon helmets are fine. They're just fairly heavy, not well ventilated, and noisy.

In that price range I can name a few better helmet-wise. KBC, Sparx, HJC are all good quality helmets. Of those three Sparx is the lightest and best ventillating imo.

I have no knowledge of their overall gear, but I have owned one helmet that was produced by Icon. It was a closeout and I thought I'd give the brand a fair try.

I wore it once. I will NEVER own one again. It was junk in my opinion.
