Oak Hill is up in Henderson, TX (near Tyler) and not MSRH down in Angleton. Your info says you're in Sugarland... that's gotta be a FAST 30 minute ride!

Paddock is the grassy area behind the buildings. You need some type of cover (like an EZ-up), and some type of carpeting doesn't hurt. /QUOTE]

Wow the paddock area is in the grass? What if it has been raining?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Oak Hill! The facilities are rather primitive, so be prepared. Luxuries like electricity, restrooms, paved paddocks, and ample running water never quite found their way to this track.

The track itself (IMHO) more than makes up for it, however. It was built as a high-speed go kart track back in the 60s, and that character is still deeply engrained in the DNA of the place. Rough, narrow, challenging... learn to ride here, and you can do well anywhere. It's odd to look at this photo, as it doesn't really do justice to the way Oak Hill looks from behind the bars. The elevation changes are much greater than they appear (down the hill into three, back up the hill and over the crest at four, the big downhill run to five, etc...). Also, the corners flow differently on the track than the aerial view would make you believe... the un-numbered kinks between 2-3 and 3-4 don't really standout in the photo, and I would have thought the run from 6 up to 7 was straighter than it appears in the photo.

Great place to ride. You're going to enjoy it!

It's about 6 feet wide, bumpy, at an angle, and has grass growing over the edges... but yes, it's a fun track, and teaches you how to go fast. People with 600's will love it, people with 750's will think it's okay, and people with 1000's will only use 4th gear in one section of the track for about 3 seconds.

Fun to ride in the rain, but thenagain... any track is when you have rain tires!
