Lone Star Rally will be no refusal weekend

Everybody, please be careful going to and from the Lone Star Rally. Galveston County DA has announced "No Refusal Weekend", which means extra DWI patrols and nobody can refuse to blow. If they do, a warrant will be issued for a blood draw and they will get it from you anyway.

On top of that, it's always good to be safe, get a cab/tow/hotel if you have too much to drink.

Agreed. Its BS. I knew it was a bad idea when they started doing it a few weekends a year. I knew it would be 52 weekends a year in the near future.

Thanks man, I knew there would be extra bacon on the buns this weekend; but didn't know about the no-refusal.

Thanks for the heads up.

I usually do my drinking and walking around during the day, stop at around 6 or 7 wait till I sober up and then head out.

It gets too rowdy for me late at night anyways

Last year was the first weekend i rode my sport bike down there(took my harley too) got pulled over doing 30 in a 35. The first question he asked me was if i wanna sobriety test. I ended up going to jail for no class M, cost 165 to get out of jail and 300 to get my bike

Really don't understand why it's so hard to get your class M endorsement. It's always cheaper to ride legally.

As I said in my thread...

Dont go NEAR the island if you dont have ALL of your paperwork up to date and legal. You might get away with it on a daily basis, but you will probably get busted in Galveston this weekend.

no refusal violates no one's rights, they get a warrant anyway... it is just that they are prepared in advance to do it on the spot....

thats what I thought, no matter either way, your busted if you did wrong. This weekend they figure they will have enough going through the system that this speeds it up a bit.

+1

I considered responding, but you know, people would just rage on me since it would be coming from an LEO.

All I was trying to advise people was to be careful, be aware.

actually it's been ALOT cheaper for me not having a class M. I have avoided a couple DWI's that way. Or maybe its cause I'm white ...
