Plastic surgery?

Hey forum, a family member of mine got himself into the emergency room for what looks like second degree burns from steam on the head and chest.
I'm thinking I'll make him a present and pay for plastic surgery, since insurance probably won't cover it if it's not life threatening.

Does it restore the skin 100% to previous condition of the whole head is burned 2nd degree? And who is the best burn specialist here in Houston? Finally, what's the ballpark cost of it?

Not surprised.

Was this caused by opening steam in the bag vegtables from the microwave after doubling the amount of time written on the bag?

At this point your replies are plain predictable. Have some boundaries, this is not one to be an about.

Insurance pays for a lot of things that are not life threatening. Skin grafts are not needed usually for 2nd degree burns. I doubt he needs surgery either way. If he did, insurance would pay for it. I also doubt your pockets are deep enough to pay out of pocket for a surgery like that. You are a good friend even though you are an idiot. You would be looking at several hundred thousand and several visits as well as ani rejection drugs most likely

Surgery isn't likely going to restore his appearance to pre burn condition. I would get some more info prior to offering to pay for treatment...its probably going to cost you quite a bit. Steam burns suck!

Probably won't restore back to 100%. I have had 2nd and 3rd degree burns and you can't really tell at all where on my arm it was because i took care of it afterwards when I was healing up. Cleaning/ burn cream, etc..

Your family member will be fine over time. The healing process for burns sucks but after a couple years, they outta be just fine.

Edit:

Mr. Green, that was golden.

Just as predictable as your threads.

This reference book may help out in the future.

I've read some articles about cosmetic plastic surgery over seas being somewhat cheaper than those in the US. Particularly China and South Korea but not sure if traveling is an option.
