First street bike was given to me as a graduation gift from my pops. '85 Suzuki GS550E. Rode it for 3 months, sold it for $600 and bought an $1,800 Katana bc that was a "real" sportbike...

What peaked my interest in riding? My old man rode on/off my entire childhood. One ride on the back of his bike was all it took.

lol , I owned one of those in 1974 , it was a suzuki ts 125 , fun bike.

Purchased my first bike at 24 which was a sport bike. I'm 30 now and don't really look up to or down on anyone in regards to riding.

Well I do give a ton of respect to those cmra guys who went from the street to racing, Even one of the guys who I used to ride retarded with on the street is now an ama racer who is still active on MH. Very cool stuff.

Riding a cruiser now I still miss the speed and rush of a sport bike. That has nothing to do with the age of a rider though so now i'm just rambling...

Started riding about exactly a year ago. I was 20.

150+ miles a day in a 95tbi with only 89k miles wasn't gonna fly.
It has become a passion, but no more so than driving.

It occupies me in a way very few activities do.

I really enjoy seeing new riders...
and your 11 year old will not be the first kid to beat my at TMGP.
There are some fine kids out there riding, not just good riders, good kids...
Ryan at 12 is a really good rider, and there was a new kid out there this weekend that just turned old enough to participate, I think he is 8 and that kid is already good...he beat Ryan one race and finished second to Ryan in another...
I think i have as much fun watching the kids racing as i do racing myself..it is a riot to watch the adults in the bleachers when the kids are racing, not sure which is the best show. at 62 i am not the oldest rider out there, i think Dennie is 3 years older than i am...

Yes but Dennie is an anomolly!!!

I am 50 years old and STILL riding the first bike I ever bought. Now having said that I didn't actually start riding until I was 47 so I guess it's not that remarkable !!

18 years old in 1990. Bought a '89 Ninja 250 all beat up for $400. Fixed it up and rode it until 95 and bought a new ZX-6R. Got my M endorsement on that one. Too many countless bikes after that to remember.
