A Mates New Bike

Couple weeks ago,I went and checked out a bike for my mate Wood duck, he lives just outside Bellingen,N.S.W, Australia.
Ducati 999 S, beautiful bike in fantastic condition at a good price.
Took it for a test ride, told him it was a good thing so he bought it.

IMGP0569

He had it shipped down to his place last week, got the registration/insurance etc transferred over to his home state on Friday and took it for it's first ride today (Sunday) to go visit a mate of ours who also lives just out of Bellingen on the Grafton/Armidale road.

A Mates New Bike

Yep, hit a 'Roo.

Kangaroos are of things, they are near impossible to spot until they're on the road because of their colouring and they leap like giant fucken leaping things.

a road trip from the outback to the riverina L P2fr8p

things can get to over 6' tall as well,

Man Hand Feeds a Giant Kangaroo1

full of muscle too.

DANG! Those tall kangaroos are creepy! Really weird to see another animal stand at man-height on two legs. Seems almost alien or science fiction. Especially the way his shoulders and arms hang like a man's when standing. Crazy.

Oh yeah, Woody is a terrific rider, it's just that the kangaroos can jump up to thirty feet in one leap and they're capable of hitting 40mph.
We don't usually cut the grass verges back as far as you do in America (there's only about 22 million people here and Australia is roughly the same size as the 48 contiguous states), we don't have the manpower or money to do it.
Plus, the Govt took our guns away.
We nearly all used to carry rifles and kept the numbers of kangaroos, pigs, rabbits , goats etc down.
Now they are in plague proportions.
You can still, after overcoming extraordinary hurdles, get a permit or licence for a very limited range of firearms, mainly bolt actions with max five round mags.
Semi Auto's rifles, even something like a Ruger 10/22?
Forget about it.
Pump or semi auto shotguns?
Hah!
Pistols?
In your dreams.
Now, it's even illegal to have a potato cannon or a Daisy BB rifle.

maybe placing a call to a local radio station, and complain about location of kangaroo crossings could help ;P

(joke intended, if you missed that thread)

Glad your buddy is allright. Shame about the bike.

Yeah, we eat it, not as much as Americans do though.
Oh, that's if you've eaten chain store hamburgers.
It's a scandal, Kangaroo and sometimes horse meat gets blended into export ground beef by unscrupulous meat packers then sold to fast food chains.
