Need help!!!!

So this may seem like a pretty dumb question but...

If i havnt started up my bike in about three weeks and the batteries completely dead, shouldnt i just be able to jump it with some cables and get going. Ive tried over and over again but everytime i try to disconnect the cables it shuts off. And when i rev it up and remove the cables it stays on but as soon as i slap the seat on, all the while revving at about 6, and jump on, put it in gear. it dies on me again. Is it a lost cause and should i buy a new battery or is there something im doing wrong. Ive also tried to run with it and jump it but no luck there either. Please help me!

1- those batteries are slow charge you may need to charge it all night.
2- you may need a battery
3- if you jump start it wrong or from a car you may need a rectifier

my experience.... you need a new battery. once you start having to charge or jump/push start it, it's too late. you'll keep having the problem. only chance you have is if you can get it started long enough to jump on and ride for an hour or two.

the cold weather we had zapped the rest of the juice out of my battery.

I am pretty positive you have to trickle charge it with a battery charger.

Thanks Will. I ended up spending $64 on a new battery. Sucks but i had to do it. Its funny that the lady that worked at autozone assumed i spoke spanish like a champ and when i talked to her in english she got off at me and started cussing at me. Now that i understood. Im not spanish by birth and had to teach myself the language but it makes me mad when people get mad at me if im not fluent. I know i look it but im still from the mideast. Sorry . Anyways Will, gracias puto. Te banes!
