gear oil maybe? maybe its low or poor quality (remember.... ya get whatcha pay for)
note: 1st to 2nd is the biggest jump because of neutral, I just make sure I shift firmly and if I am not "gettin' on it", I make sure to pull the clutch in fully. Smoooooooooooth e'rytime!

i really hope you guys aren't neutral shifting (which means not completely shifting), that can ruin your gears/tranny. it happens to me when i wear my track boots sometimes. now i adjusted my shift lever higher to keep from doing that.

just try and loop your foot completely under the shift lever, and firmly get it in gear.

as Jus10 said, 1st to 2nd is the biggest jump in gears.

i've had the same issue...I was in the middle of crossing a street when the 500 got stuck in neutral...scary stuff! thank my bike is light and easy to push! is there a way to fix this because that wasnt the first time it had happened either.

Exact opposite of what you're used to. Push down to shift up, and pull up to shift down.
